Onderzoeksproject Colonialism, Colonial Repair and Moluccan Perspectives

Wat betekent colonial repair en hoe kunnen gesprekken bijdragen aan meer begrip, verbinding en reflectie?

7 July 2026 · 10:58

What does colonial repair mean, and how can conversations contribute to greater understanding, connection and reflection?

In this video Abigaïl, Charissa, Jessica and Lars talk about the project Colonialism, Colonial Repair, and Moluccan Perspectives, a collaboration between the University of Amsterdam and Museum Maluku. From different backgrounds they share their experiences, insights and the creation of the Conversation Cards, a conversation tool that invites people to reflect on themes such as identity, colonial history, memory and repair.

The project brings together academic research, heritage and community knowledge. Through conversations, research and collaboration with the Moluccan community, space is created for new perspectives and mutual understanding.

This video is part of a wider series of activities in which Museum Maluku and the University of Amsterdam work together on dialogue, knowledge sharing and making Moluccan perspectives on the past, present and future visible.
