Under the title Wij zijn de Molukkers, the Stichting Zelfbeschikking Molukkers en Papoea's (ZMP) presents a film recorded on DVD about the past, present and future of the Moluccan freedom struggle.

THE OCCASION
The reason for making this DVD was the diary NJONJA written by Dinah Marijanan, in which the wife of Mr Dr Chris Soumokil, the president of the Republik Maluku Selatan (RMS) executed on 12 April 1966, tells of the Moluccan freedom struggle she waged together with her husband for fifteen years.
DOCUMENTARY
The reason for making the documentary, recorded in the Netherlands, is that younger generations of Moluccans in the Moluccas themselves and in the Netherlands are showing that they want to support the striving for independence actively.
Alongside Mrs Soumokil, John Wattilete, president of the RMS, speaks in the film. He sets out the vision of his government in exile for the future. Young Moluccans also talk about the current situation in the Moluccas.
PRESENTATION
The presentation takes place on the afternoon of Thursday 26 March at the Moluks Historisch Museum, housed in Museum Sophiahof, Sophialaan 10 in The Hague.
