From 15 January 2023 – Dusted Off: Membuka Tambo Lama
From Sunday 15 January the new exhibition of Museum Maluku can be seen at Museum Sophiahof: Afgestoft: Membuka Tambo Lama (Dusted Off). With highlights from the collection and works by documentary portrait photographer Yara Jimmink and multidisciplinary artist Sebastiaan Boot.
Exhibition Afgestoft: Membuka Tambo Lama
With the exhibition ‘Afgestoft’, Museum Maluku shows work from its own collection. Since our museum in Utrecht closed (2012), the rich collection of objects and archives has been kept in storage. It is time to dust off this collection, unpack it and give it a stage again. Membuka tambo lama comes from Malay and loosely translates as breathing new life into something old. In ‘Afgestoft’, young artists with Moluccan roots offer their reflections on parts of this special collection. ‘Afgestoft’ can be seen at Museum Sophiahof, The Hague from 15 January to 10 April 2023.
