Molukse Dialogen III
On Sunday 29 October 2023, from 14:00 to 16:00, a brand-new edition of Molukse Dialogen was recorded at Museum Sophiahof. The overarching theme of this third edition of Molukse Dialogen was the transmission of knowledge about Moluccan culture. Hosts Joaniek Vreeswijk and Uriël Matahelumual entered into dialogue with inspiring speakers.
Transmitting knowledge about Moluccan culture
Where do you get your knowledge and information from? This third edition revolves around passing on knowledge about Moluccan culture. We dived into themes such as language (Moluccan Malay/bahasa tanah), adat isti adat, (de)colonial history and different Moluccan kinship structures. Noreen Tatuhey (breathing coach), Yopie Abraham (artist), Kaja Sariwating (public administration specialist and founder of MOZA), Desley Mooij (community builder and communications professional), Gloria Lappya (writer), Matheus Pattinasarany (manager, North Art Label), Tamara Soukotta (PhD researcher), Jamie Schaduw (founder of Totaal Moluks), Gayle Mahulette (entrepreneur and Dutch badminton champion) and Rio Lekatompessy (artist-project manager and maker of the podcast Molukse Takkie) joined for an in-depth dialogue. Singer Moisha Matahelumual provided a wonderful interlude.
The first round was presented in Dutch. The second round, led by Tamara Soukotta, took place in English. The livestream can be watched back via the Molukse Dialogen YouTube channel.
