The kick-off of the Molukse Dialogen series on Sunday 6 December got off to a flying start. More than 400 people watched via Facebook and YouTube and a lively discussion took place online. The panel consisted of a group of Moluccan Dutch people with a diversity of backgrounds. You can watch it back on YouTube.
The kick-off of Molukse Dialogen was a great success.
The event was organised by the Moluks Historisch Museum, Zwart x Oranje, Nusantara Amsterdam and Heka Leka Global. All look back on a successful kick-off. Henry Timisela (director of the MHM): 'It is good to look at what connects the Moluccan community and to talk about it respectfully with one another. The many-sidedness of the Moluccan community is remarkable. The panel members showed that yesterday and we saw it reflected online as well. The conversation was excellently led by Joaniek and Jeftha, and that was no easy job; they did a fine piece of work. We are grateful for all the positive responses and the good feedback and feel that we are on the right track with this. On to a sequel.'

Through the MHM's social media channels it is still possible to give input on what the coming sessions should look like in terms of content. Themes such as housing, Moluccan history before the colonial period and the practice of adat are already coming up.
