On Saturday 14 March 2020 we all go on an expedition through more than 20 museums and cultural institutions across The Hague and Voorburg. Museum Sophiahof is taking part too with an exciting programme: Ekspedisi Indië. With a treasure hunt for the bird of paradise, and have you always wanted to learn how to play a tifa (drum)? The programme is offered by the Moluks Historisch Museum and the Indisch Herinneringscentrum.
EXPEDITION
In Ekspedisi (Indonesian for expedition) Indië we take you to a country of the past: the 'Dutch East Indies'. At the time a colony of the Netherlands, now better known as Indonesia. At Museum Sophiahof you can take part in a real treasure hunt. Can you find the bird of paradise? And learn to play a real tifa (a Moluccan drum made from a hollowed-out tree trunk and a goatskin). And have you always wanted to be in the spotlight on a stage? Then you can show everyone how well you can play the tifa.
MUSEUM NIGHT KIDS
Museum Sophiahof is taking part in Museum Night Kids for the first time. You can exchange your e-ticket for a wristband with us too. Do take a look while you are here and start Museum Night with music, a treasure hunt and of course a tasty Indo snack!
