Come to Museum Sophiahof on Saturday 8 October 2022 during Museum Night The Hague for an extensive festival full of activities. Enjoy 'Saté under the Stars', browse the mini Pasar Malam, listen to 'Krontjong in Concert' and play the ukulele in a workshop. Museum Maluku is also shaping the programme at Museum Sophiahof and presents: Moluccan Night – Silent Disco. Get to know Moluccan art and culture through music.
During Museum Night The Hague on Saturday 8 October, all kinds of activities and events are organised between 20:00 and 01:00 in various museums in The Hague. Museum Sophiahof and Museum Maluku are taking part this year too with an extensive programme.
Moluccan Night – Silent Disco
This year Museum Maluku gives Museum Night The Hague a Moluccan flavour with the Moluccan Night – Silent Disco in the covered garden of Museum Sophiahof. During the Moluccan Night you get to know Moluccan art and culture through music. Various Moluccan DJs are ready to give you an unforgettable Moluccan evening. From tracks by Massada and Ronnie Flex to music from Moluccan soil. And thirsty after all that dancing? The bartenders of Barak '51 will pour you the tastiest cocktails.

Krontjong in concert & Ukulele All Stars
This year, for the first time during Museum Night The Hague, Museum Sophiahof presents a unique and interactive museum concert of classics from krontjong music. Violinist Gregor Overtoom, viola player Marjo van den Doel and cellist Hanne Steffers take you through the history and sounds of this musical genre from the former Dutch East Indies. Immerse yourself in songs such as Koleh Koleh and Terang Bulan. Before you know it you will be singing along to the catchy refrains! And if you want to have a go yourself, join the workshop Ukulele All Stars. You can let yourself go on a mini guitar and you do not even have to be musical.
Saté under the stars & exhibitions
Of course you can eat delicious Saté under the Stars and browse the Pasar Malam (night market) with stalls full of books, trinkets and Indo/Moluccan snacks. The doors of the exhibition space are open too. Take a look at the exhibition ONS LAND and at the brand-new temporary exhibitions 'Tabee Nieuw-Guinea' and 'BIAK Stories'.
