On Sunday 6 December a panel discussion takes place at Museum Sophiahof in The Hague with Moluccans of the second and third generation. It is organised by the Moluks Historisch Museum, Nusantara Amsterdam, Zwart x Oranje and Heka Leka Global. These Moluccan dialogues are streamed live via YouTube and Facebook. The first block begins at 12:30. The second block at 14:30.

In the first session we put at the centre the question of how inclusive the Moluccan historical narrative and the information shared about the Moluccan community in the Netherlands actually are. Can everyone recognise themselves in that story and that information? And if not, what is missing from it? Do the panel members feel that the image of Moluccans in the Netherlands fits reality better, or do the KNIL and RMS stories, for instance, take up too much space when it comes to the history of Moluccans in the Netherlands?
How inclusive is the historical narrative of Moluccans in the Netherlands?

At the beginning of this session we put the following Mentimeter question to the audience: what are, for you, the three most important key words that belong in the Moluccan story? This question will produce a word cloud that we want to discuss with the panel members as a bridge to further discussion with the 'room'.
In the second session we want to look at the question of what to do to make the Moluccan story more inclusive for the community. Who should do that, new national organisations? How should they do it and what should in any case be told? And which generations should do this? We do not have to come up with a conclusive answer, but hope above all to have an inspiring discussion that provides hooks for future initiatives.
At the beginning of this session we put to the audience the Mentimeter question of whether there is a need for a new national organisation to tell the Moluccan story, or for an existing organisation (such as the foundations, the MHM). This question too will produce a word cloud.
Towards the end of this discussion we put another Mentimeter question, asking people to give three key words for what should in any case be told in the Moluccan story in future.
