The impact of Pattimura

On Sunday 15 May – Hari Pattimura – Museum Maluku is holding the panel discussion The impact of Pattimura at Museum Sophiahof. Different generations come together to talk. Who was Thomas Matulessy, better known as (kapitan) Pattimura? What impact did he have? How does the younger generation of Moluccans look at Pattimura?

In conversation with one another

During this afternoon, the 3rd and 4th generations talk together and exchange thoughts about the impact of Pattimura. Traditional storyteller and sejarawan Ridhwan Ohorella takes you into a story of Pattimura in his own remarkable way. Host Miguell Kaidel then goes deeper into the story of Pattimura and the uprisings with the panel members. What was Pattimura's impact at the time? And how does the story of Pattimura resonate now? Programme & guests

The programme of The impact of Pattimura runs from 14:00 to 16:30. In the first conversation, host Miguell Kaidel talks with junior curator Reïnda Hully, traditional storyteller and sejarawan Ridhwan Ohorella and historian Wim Manuhutu. In the second conversation they are joined by Noah Fanoembi (ambassador for Tanimbar in the Netherlands), Kai Maipauw (transdisciplinary artist) and Charissa Leiwakabessy (researcher).
