A relay of 21 artists – 7 rounds – together they form IKAT
21 artists from different disciplines take part in IKAT. They are of different generations, genders and backgrounds, each with their own vision. What binds them is their Moluccan heritage or connection to the Moluccas.
The museum asked all the artists to reflect on 70 years of residence in the Netherlands. What does identity mean to you, and how does that relate to your work?
The result shows a multifaceted perspective in which different views and disciplines sit side by side. They come together and interlock like a woven fabric, like IKAT.
The presentation is a relay of seven blocks.
