Is there still time? For a bit of looking back? Very briefly, then. After the bustle of the commemorative year 70 years of Moluccans in the Netherlands, we look back on a productive period. A selection of the activities: the kick-off with the **BETA DISINI livestreams **was watched by tens of thousands of people. We created the exhibition IKAT , which could be visited both physically and online, and we toured the country with the programme Future Community. We produced more online content through the conversation series Maju Mundur and we are proud to have closed the year with the publication of the book Toma Terus: a creative reflection not only on the rich Moluccan history, but just as much on the challenges of the future.

Speaking of productive. In our home, Museum Sophiahof, work is under way on the new exhibition** ‘OUR LAND – Decolonisation, generations, stories**’. The opening is on 8 February.

Over the past year the project group, a collaboration between the Indisch Herinneringscentrum and MHM, has made all the preparations for this special, semi-permanent exhibition. We look forward to the opening and hope the exhibition prompts conversation about colonial history and how it continues to work through in daily life. A fine starting signal for a fine year with new programmes.

Focus for 2022

What MHM will be focusing on in the period ahead is our museum collection. At present the museum objects are stored in a number of depots.

Our task is to reassess the condition of these objects. Their digitisation, and ultimately making them accessible, will play an even greater role. We are proud that in recent times we have been able to add various donations to our collection. Think, for example, of artefacts from the Moluccas, videotapes with footage from the 1970s and 1980s and numerous new photo archives. To process and preserve this heritage properly, your help is needed. By donating you make sure we can continue our work with great pleasure.

Questions or suggestions? Let us know.

Commuting between S10 and P23
A cryptic title for a blog, don't you think? In our offices we have recently been using these abbreviations for the 2 locations of Museum Maluku. S10 refers to Sophialaan 10 in The Hague, the site of Museum Sophiahof, where Museum Maluku has its office and where the exhibition ONS LAND can be visited. P23 refers to Piekstraat 23 in Rotterdam.
