Where images become stories: on 20 March we opened the exhibition In eigen woorden for invited guests. What is now visible in the hall began in the weeks before at a long table. Among boxes, envelopes and stacks of photographs we worked intensively with a group of volunteers on one clear but ambitious task: selecting some 500 images that would form the basis of the exhibition.

Meanwhile curator Huib Akihary and volunteers are busy installing the new temporary exhibition Uitgepakt: Van kist naar kast. The exhibition can be visited from Saturday 28 October 2023.

The exhibition Ons Land is about Dutch colonial history in the East Indies and how it still works through the present. The voices of eight families form the heart of Ons Land.
